Wendy is a textile artist who has recently discovered the love of fabric and the world of art quilting. She uses a raw edge appliqué technique, achieving a painterly quality that suggests movement and life rather than rigid perfection. The layering of fabrics and ‘painting’ with threads brings three-dimensional depth to a two-dimensional surface and invites the viewer to look closer.

Wendy’s inspiration comes from the natural world and animals feature predominantly in her work. She uses reference photos to breakdown the image into its essential value components, then reimagines the subject whilst honouring the animal’s individual personality and spirit.
