Erica McNicol
Painting, Jewellery, ceramics & Textiles
Erica McNicol from a very early age was encouraged by those who recognised her talent to pursue her passion in art. This created a thirst for knowledge and a desire to create that remains with her today. Farm and family life kept her busy in those early days, but art sustained her. Striving for originality, innovation and a point of difference whenever possible, Erica enrolled in art courses, participated in exhibitions, joined art groups and even kept a studio in the Hahndorf Academy for a time. Erica draws her greatest inspiration from the Australian landscape which is evidenced in her work.
It’s been years since Erica lived on a farm and has moved a couple of times since. Each move Erica ensured to take advantage of the landscape she is living in to provide her with a new palette and a fresh source of influences for all her artwork. Her art includes landscape oil painting, pencil drawings, enamelled jewellery, embroidery, textiles and ceramics. As a keen gardener she also grows plants for dried flower arrangements and wreaths.
Erica continues to be creatively active by contributing to exhibitions whilst supplying and selling at several local galleries on a regular basis. Currently Erica lives in Flagstaff Hill, Adelaide and is now committed full time to her art practice from her newly built home studio.
